The Basics

What Is Aviva MyHealthCounts?

Aviva says MyHealthCounts is designed to help you understand your health and the lifestyle choices that affect it. It's simple to use, and could help you save up to 15% on your renewal premium.

With MyHealthCounts, you get a clear picture of your current health and practical ways to improve it. All you need to do is complete a short questionnaire, which typically takes 10 to 15 minutes. Based on your answers, Aviva provides personalised advice and tips to help you manage and improve your health.

New for policies from July 2025

Aviva relaunched an enhanced version of MyHealthCounts for policies starting on or after 14 July 2025, adding a dedicated app (available on iOS and Android) alongside the existing web platform, so you can register, complete your questionnaire and track your progress from your phone as well as online.

Step By Step

How Does MyHealthCounts Work?

Three steps, from registration to your personalised programme.

1

Register at myhealthcounts.aviva.co.uk. You'll need your MyHealthCounts login code (sent in your welcome letter), your policy number, and your date of birth. Each adult on the policy registers separately with their own email.

2

Complete The Questionnaire

A short online health and lifestyle questionnaire, typically 10-15 minutes. Aviva uses this to calculate your Q Score, comparing your health to 100 people of the same age, race and gender.

3

Get Your Programme

MyHealthCounts recommends a 12-week health programme tailored to your goals, whether that's activity, quitting smoking, or something else, with progress you can track over time.

The Discount

What Is A Q Score?

Your Q Score is based on your health and lifestyle choices, such as your diet and activity levels. It gives you a clear sense of how your health compares to others similar to you, and it also has the potential to earn you a discount when you renew.

Your Q Score is calculated from your questionnaire answers, so the more accurate your answers, the more accurate your Q Score. Improving your Q Score and overall health could earn you up to a 15% discount on your renewal premium.

Timing matters

You'll typically need to update your progress in MyHealthCounts between month 6 and month 9 of your policy year to qualify for your discount at renewal, so it's worth setting a reminder rather than leaving it until the last minute.

Your MyHealthCounts discount is completely separate from your no-claims discount, meaning you can still save on your premium even if you've made a claim. As a Healthier Solutions customer, you'll also have access to MyWellbeingDiscounts, offering deals including discounts to gyms and health clubs across the UK.

FAQs

Aviva MyHealthCounts FAQs

When can I register for MyHealthCounts?

Once you become a Healthier Solutions customer, you'll be sent information about how to join MyHealthCounts, including your login code.

Do I have to take part in MyHealthCounts?

No, it's entirely optional.

Is MyHealthCounts free to join?

Yes.

If I make a claim, will I still get a MyHealthCounts discount?

Yes. MyHealthCounts is entirely separate from your no-claims discount (NCD). If anyone covered on your policy claims, your policy will drop down the NCD scale at renewal, unless you've protected your NCD, but you could still earn a MyHealthCounts discount on top.

Will the medical information I provide be used to assess any claim?

No. Aviva will not use your MyHealthCounts data to assess any claim you're currently making, or may make in future.

How will Aviva use the data I provide?

Aviva only uses your MyHealthCounts data to calculate your discount. It is not used to price or underwrite your policy.
